I have lived beside the tracks as a kid. Walked rails and ties both at one time or another. Our family has members who worked for railways. I love the noisy things.

Now we stumbled across this video of a train that lays its own tracks. You won’t believe it!!
They are replacing the sleepers and ballast (Belgium, across the border from the Netherlands, near Eindhoven). The machine you see at 4:04 is amazingly strong and laser guided. It picks up the rails, then vibrates the stones underneath the track, so that they fall into each others...

Dr. Barry Rubin is a phlegmatic observer. He seldom jumps to conclusions, but his analysis is usually above reproach. This piece on the so-called peace talks is no exception.

Professor Barry Rubin
This time around the Israeli Prime Minister is not in danger of losing either his coalition or the next election. And there are more bloggers who understand the equation. They will offset the liberal “government-controlled” media.
I will insert some comments in the paragraphs below:
The Region: Barack hearts Bibi

He’s the new incoming Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces. Selected by Defense Minister Ehud Barak, he is more than meets the eye.

Maj. Gen. Yoav Galant
During the very early selection process there was a suspicion by some that he had hired a PR firm to promote his name as the number one soldier in Israel. It has since proven untrue. A former IDF officer has recently pled guilty.
The IDF has seen some tough times. Pre-General Ashkenazi there was too much top-tier officer officialdom. The process of getting orders to the men in the field was bloated, politically correct and ineffective. Commands...

Barak: Israel May Divide Jerusalem, Internationalize “Holy Basin”

Ehud Barak and Benjamin Netanyahu
Defense Minister Ehud Barak says it is likely that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will agree to divide Jerusalem with the Palestinian Authority.
Barak told the Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz in an interview published Wednesday that he believes the best chance for peace lies in a peace deal in which all the Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem would be handed over to the PA in order to create a capital for a new Arab country.
Barak also covered some interesting...

“That's a polite way of saying: clinging to bigotry. And promiscuous charges of bigotry are precisely how our current rulers and their vast media auxiliary react to an obstreperous citizenry that insists on incorrect thinking.”

Speaking of bigots
Charles Krauthammer writes that the liberals have come to the position – in the midst of their weakness – of calling conservatives bigots.
One of the most articulate voices of conservatism, Krauthammer tells it like it is. And like the Communists taught it years ago in Moscow’s schools, When you are losing...

TAXES! THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE WORLD ARE WORKING OVERTIME TO FLEECE THE CITIZENS, AND MOST OF THE TIME THE CITIZENS ARE TAKING IT!
“I’m from the government, and I’m here to help you.” That lie is famous for getting a laugh. Almost everyone knows that the government that governs and taxes least is the best.

People are incensed because the President is taking a vacation. I wish he would stay on vacation, and take the Congress with him! Governing least.
One of the rallying points with liberals is the class warfare of taxing the “rich” and not the “common man.” With fully 15% of our citizens...

What do Israelis think of the peace talks? Not much. Oh there are some who are so naïve that they believe all the hype but that number is declining.

Caroline Glick
“… most Israelis have had it with the peace paradigm based on Israeli concessions of land and national rights in exchange for Palestinian terror and political warfare. When asked whether the government should extend the prohibition on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria beyond its September 26 terminus, 63% said no, it should not. A mere 21% of the public believes the government should respond positively to the US demand that Jews continue to be denied...

Charles Krauthammer says it is almost certain that after the elections the Obamanation will try to put a VAT (Value Added Tax) on America.

Israel and much of Europe has such a tax already. Perhaps you have never heard of this tax. We offer more information below, and tomorrow a more extensive description, examples, and lots more courtesy of Wikipedia.
In the mean time, read the RIDICULOUS story below of New York and the sale of bagels and the taxes thereon.
Article from Heritage Foundation:
Washington think tanks and commentators continue to spin out impressive reams attempting...
