I have kept out of the US-related politics of the Syrian war. I listen to those like Sen. McCain rant/whisper about setting more involved and watch Obama lead from behind so others can take the heat.

When it comes to doing what is right in this area, we are not really conflicted. Stay out of it except to do as Israel has primarily done – send aid and help the downtrodden.

It is al Qaeda against the thugocracy of Bashar Assad. Like watching two playground bullies slug it out, the rest of us win every time either side...

First a disclaimer. I used to number a few FBI Special Agents among my friends. I hunted with a Virginia County Sheriff and some of the top men in that organization every year as we shot doves and cooked out. I liked them.

Samantha Power has been nominated by President Obama to replace Susan Rice as the US Ambassador to the UN.

Rice, of course, has been promoted to NSA, we suspect for being a good soldier and keeping quiet after her shameful starring role in the Benghazi debacle.

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach has written a good defense of Ms. Power. I’m presenting it here because he sounds good.
