The scene is familiar now. Demonstrators congregate at the main city square to express their disgust at the local tyrant’s control of their country. Their religion may be Muslim, or Facebook. They may want Sharia law or democracy. What they got was nightsticks.

Damascus. A “blackbird’s” eye view

It wasn’t big by demonstration standards. It wasn’t the Million Man march with their 300,000 in attendance. It was not comparable to Egypt or Tunisia or even Bahrain. But...

First the good news I am still in one piece. It is the practice of the police bomb squad to blow up any unattended packages, not to move them or try to disarm them.

First time. No pics of this one. (Ernie Moore)

A week ago Wednesday there was a bus bombing here in Jerusalem. Today I met with a friend who is an auxiliary policeman who informed me of the continuing high alert. Then at 5:30 PM literally outside my apartment the bomb squad set off an unattended package.

It’s not the...

When I lived in Virginia a very disturbed man killed himself in a brand new Cadillac. It was four hot summer days before his body was discovered. The car dealer obligingly cancelled the debt for the man’s widow and decided to detail the car and re-sell it. After literally ripping out the interior and replacing it he still could not remove the bad odor.

Acorn and SEUI are like that. You can’t get rid of the stink, even after many visits to the White House.

Here is the Fox News report...

That cry could very well have come from PA President Mahmoud Abbas while the two were in Russia at the same time last week.

PA President Mahmoud Abbas

Don’t hold me to it, but there could very well be some Israeli assistance in Prime Minister Netanyahu’s statement about the PA choosing either peace with Israel or peace with Hamas.

As the Jerusalem Post announced, Israel’s government is making it clear – you cannot just love the one you’re with, as the old song used to go. You...

We recently wrote about the Turkish military forcing an Iranian cargo jet down inside Turkey for a “routine inspection.” Now a Turkish columnist is asking Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan “what rank was 3-month old “soldier?”

Hadas (Esther in English) Fogel – murdered at 3 months old.

Turkey’s Prime Minister Erdogan has been on a rant against Israel for at least a year. We totally believe he is playing to the hard-line Islamists who are gaining strength in Turkey, and...

GOC Southern Command: "Hamas has lost control of Gaza Strip." Maj. Gen. Russo made the statement in a visit to the Eshkol Regional Council .

Imagine that you are the meanest of the junkyard dogs, and suddenly you wake up one morning and find that everyone else sees you as a lap dog. That apparently has happened to Hamas in Gaza.

Here’s the IDF report on the situation facing Hamas right now:

“According to Commander of Southern Command,...

Those are the words of IDF Cpl. Haim Levin, a medic who helped a Palestinian woman in childbirth at the settlement where the family of the murdered Fogel family were in mourning.

Life Saver, IDF Medic Cpl. Levin and Palestinian infant named Jude.

The dramatic rescue of both mother and baby is typical of what happens in the West Bank – and even Gaza – when Palestinians have medical emergencies. They rush to the Israelis because they know two things: They will treat the Palestinians...

We had a friend in farm country who said that the troops should sew up the Taliban fighters in Afghanistan up in pig skins and bury them. This might be cheaper and tastier.

Some of you will certainly think this goes against the grain. Others will cheer and decide that you want to buy a ticket.

The place is near Houston. I don’t have any news on how this is working now, but leave it to Shep to find this stuff and run it.

Thanks to my pal, John – again.

The latest virus to hit the Middle East isn’t H1N1, it’s each one shoot one. At least that’s what it looks like from out viewpoint.

Syrian soldier

Haaretz reported that as of Thursday 25 protesters have been killed by Syrian authorities. That means that Bashar Assad is scared.

It’s one thing to hit the crowds with water cannon. Killing them like rabid dogs in the streets is quite another.

And we have questions for our readers?

Where is the Arab League? Where is...

On the 15th of this month Israel captured a shipment of advanced weapons, including anti-ship rockets headed ultimately to Gaza. Now Turkey has intercepted an air shipment headed to Syria, and no doubt ultimately to Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

Diyarbakir is in Turkey’s south east corner area and near Iran (Persia)

This is sort of a “man-bites-dog” story. You will no doubt remember that for the past year and a half some high level Turkish politicians have been trashing Israel,...
