With his owl-like black plastic framed glasses, jutting chin and wiry grey hair and now-bowed walk, Rafi Eitan is still active and getting things done – and at the highest levels if Israeli government.

The former Palmach and Haganah soldier and head of the famed Mossad went on to be Chief of Staff, and Knesset minister. He was in the group that nailed the Nazi murderer Adolf Eichmann.

Now he’s sitting in on meetings...

Syria has a very diverse population, as the following article by Jaques Neriah demonstrates.

Now it also has a plethora of opposition groups to the Assad government.

The following info is from Wikipedia with my comments throughout the entire article in brackets “[ ].”

“The population of Syria is 75% Sunni Muslim, with a 13% Shia Muslim...

You can call Arafat the old man, the terrorist boss, the gangster – all names we’ve heard hung on him. Abbas on the other hand has cleaner hands, though he stood beside the old man and did his bidding. When the Ugly One died in Paris, Abbas and a select few were there to get the numbered account details and to take over the PLO.

Now Palestinian officials said Sunday they won't be able to pay upcoming public-sector salaries...

When President George W. Bush was visiting Israel on one of his trips to get a peace agreement between then PM Ehud Olmert and PA President Mahmoud Abbas, I was sitting in the press room atop Jerusalem’s City Hall, when an Israeli journalist asked me in frustration, “Why doesn’t Bush get it?! Olmert is a worm!”

Regardless of Olmert’s reality, Bush always allowed him to hang on him like a cheap suit…

There are two Palestinian governments. Recently Hamas announced that the next government for all Palestinians will be in Gaza City. In fact there are reports that neither Hamas’ Prime Minister Haniya nor Fatah’s Prime Minister Fayyad will be permitted to participate in the new blended government.

To add funding to the Hamas group prior to such a combining of “enemies” there is word out that Hamas has fined Gaza banks tens...

The Palestinians, starting under Arafat, have never been bashful about telling the world that Jesus was a “Palestinian.”

They left an empty chair at the Bethlehem Church of the Nativity Christmas Catholic mass to symbolize their leader.

For a very long time the liberal Christian Protestant denominations have tended to side with the Palestinians over the Jews.

Now PA President Abbas is lecturing evangelicals...

That column of black smoke is the result of an IAF jet reaching down and touching a rocket firing team just outside of Gaza City and a quarter mile from Israel.

Let me give you some details: The gray line in the right-middle of the photo is the concrete border security fence Israel erected. In the background just above it is the power plant near Ashdod. The green foreground area is the no-man’s land between the eastern Gaza border and the western Israel border at the northern end of Gaza.

To hear the Hamas talking heads, there is going to be a new Palestinian Authority and Hamas will run the show.

To say the least, the same idea is not going over well in the West Bank Palestinian city of Ramallah.

The J-Post reported recently, “Hamas adviser Ahmed Youssef tells "Quds al-Arabi" time is "ripe" for consensus between Fatah and Hamas; PA President Abbas to visit Gaza in near future.

He is smart, no-nonsense, and knows his missile technology. He’s Uzi Rubin.

I first came to know his son, and through Elad, the father. I’ve attended a number of great briefings both in the north and in Jerusalem.

Uzi says that Israel’s Arrow 3 missiles can intercept Iran’s missiles if they come toward Israel, and he should know. Throughout the land he’s known as the father of Israel’s missile defense system.
