Allow me a personal comment. While participating in the Viet Nam War I learned that I hate grenades, mortars and rockets. They are far too impersonal.

Okay, I admit that sounds silly. But it’s how we are made.

But there was one rocket I loved, and that is the Iron Dome anti-rocket system that fired off hundreds of times. (Look for a piece on the cost of all that soon.)

Now there is another component of Israel’s missile defense system – Magic Wand. As you can see from the photo, it is not a tiny thing, though thin.

It will be another way that...

There are so many proverbs and tales about people who start out with swelled heads, or as one old pal of mine used to say, “A wast (wasp) is always biggest when it’s first hatched.”

I’m smiling at that memory, and I’m seeing Egypt’s Morsi in my mind.

He started out as the popular choice in Egypt’s recent election. The thousands who had filled Tahrir Square applauded him and Mubarak’s demise.

Then along came the Gaza-Israel war. As we mentioned a few days ago, Turkey’s Prime Minister Erdogan showed up and tried to upstage the new guy. He was summarily...

In Israel, politics isn’t just about power, it is also about survival. Which party will protect Israel against the likes of Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran. And can Jordan also become a threat, what with the Muslim Brotherhood posing a serious threat to the overthrow of King Abdullah II?

After losing the United States recent Presidential elections, there are lots of RINOs (Republican in Name Only) who want to remake their party into a more touchy-feely party and sort of a clone of the Democrat Party.

In Israel, the leader of Likud...

We thought perhaps you were ready for thoughts of food again after the Thanksgiving feast has become a pleasant memory.

This one will surely be on our table before long, though I admit shrimp are not easy to come by.

This Garlic Baked Shrimp Recipe is a perfect alternative to traditional Shrimp Scampi Recipes, which are typically drenched in butter and/or oil. My version still has the flavors you love, but each serving is just 4 Points +. Each bite packs tons of delicious flavor and a hint of crunch. But the best part is that this baked shrimp recipe can be prepared quickly, easily and...

Screengrab: Times of Israel

The Hamas war is officially over. So far it is holding fairly well. One the worst of Hamas even admitted that Israel is doing a good job of holding to the agreement.

But we thought you would enjoy seeing some of the headlines in one of the news outlets here in Jerusalem. The Times of Israel is published by David Horovitz who used to be the Editor at the Jerusalem Post.

In addition to those headlines, you should know that most of the Israeli citizens interviewed by a variety of the media says they are upset that Israel did not sent in ground forces and eradicate...

During the early moments of the Hezbollah-Israel war in the summer of 2006 Israeli jets struck southern Lebanon and destroyed virtually all of the long range rockets they had received from Iran.

The exact thing occurred this month, when the Fajr-5 long range rockets of Gaza were almost all destroyed. Some of them remained and were fired at both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. In the day the so-called ceasefire was to take place, the few remaining were ready to be fired at Tel Aviv. Just seconds before they were lit off, again IAF jets were overhead and destroyed.

“This afternoon, President Barack Obama consulted with MSNBC host Al Sharpton, who's also assicated with the National Action Network (NAN), about the fiscal talks between the White House and Congress. At the same meeting, Obama also consulted with other "leaders of civil rights and civic organizations." (Weekly Standard)

The President of the United States has taken the nation to the brink of bankruptcy, and now he’s talking to the likes of Al Sharpton for financial advice?!

Let’s face it, the election was won because the takers – like Obama – have no realization of what makes an economy run. To them as long as the printing presses are running we won’t ever run out of money. They just don’t get it that there must be production FIRST before there is anything to tax.

Please allow me a few minutes to try to coax you to visit

Why? Because if you enjoy the fare you find on as we present our take on current events, primarily in Israel, you might find that you will come to love the adventure novels on

Here’s why: First of all, the stories are what you might find from reading any top of the line world newspaper. Events about intrigue, spies, world leaders, and a nice mix of real-to-life heroes.

We build the stories around a mix of current events and a Judeo-Christian world view. For...

President Morsi of Egypt.

The streets of both Gaza City and Tel Aviv were filled with celebrants after the announced cease fire last night.

We thought some insights into the affair might be of interest to some of our readers on a number of fronts.

HOW DOES THE CEASEFIRE WORK? There are two sides to the agreement. One is the cessation of fire, meaning rockets from Gaza and interestingly the Israeli agreement to stop targeted killing of Hamas leaders.

It is a known fact that Hamas stores of...

Most folks have seen the state voting maps. But what about a map of new nations comprised of states that have seceded from the nation.

Yes, you’re right. The nation fought a war about the right of states’ right to secede. At least that was one reason.

Not we see that our nation is divided down the center over a number of issues, and guess what? One of them is still states’ rights.

Recently we came across this article about 20 petitions to secede from the United States of America.

Before you laugh and walk away, I...
