This photo we shot in the city offices where we went to interview the Mayor of Bethlehem astonished me. The lady is a Christian intern at one of the NGOs in Israel, who agreed to pose beside the Christmas tree and poster of Arafat if I would send it to her for her mother. She got the expected response from home.

Bethlehem was, once upon a time populated primarily by Jews.

Then it gradually came to be a city of two races, Arabs and Jews.

After Arafat came to power through the...

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas from our house to yours.

Luke 2:1-20 1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because...

There’s news out about a group of Orthodox rabbis apparently putting a limited stamp of approval on Christians.

Some will read that, or just the headline, and say AMEN!

Not so fast.

We have some ideas on all this.

First of all, those rabbis are responding to the Vatican’s attempts to make peace with Israel.

Secondly, they are talking about Palestinians Christians, Catholics and perhaps Greek...

YES, this is Rush Limbaugh and the guy he calls Snerdley.

After our so-called GOP controlled House and Senate passed the 2000 page Omnibus bill (meaning all things rolled into one), Rush was calling out the question, “Why do we need a Republican party?!” After all, the idea was that electing them would bring some sense to the legislative process.

And when Boehner left, there was a smidgen of hope that Paul Ryan would...

“Divided over how to interact with Islamic State, how to deal with Egypt, how to relate to Iran, how to bolster funds, how to govern Gaza and how to most effectively challenge Israel, the only consensus in Hamas is that now is a time for change. But predicting the direction of any such change is a fool’s errand.”

With much of Gaza still looking like this photo, the various terrorist groups are bickering among themselves...

It’s said that when dog bites man, that’s not news, but apparently it is.

Bibi and Sara Netanyahu adopted Kaiya. Then, probably to show the softer side of Bibi, Kaiya went along to a Hanukkah ceremony where she decided to bite Likud MK Sharren Haskel and the husband of Deputy FM Tzipi Hotovely. Not good. Both people required some kind of medical attention.

I jokingly said that Hotovely might well have been a target, if Bibi wanted to get even. She has been a bit of a pain in the neck...

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat is brave, smart, rich and conservative. What’s not to like about the former Formula One racer?

Well, not much by the likes of this author. We have met him on a few occasions and like him. But now that he’s looking to expand his horizons, we will watch to see how those on the same side of issued will treat him.

Namely Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, Bibi,...

(Jake Crabtree’s fictional latest ride. Note the Zulu, Ltd. Logo on the vertical stabilizer. Look closely and you might spot Connie in the left seat.)

I have a friend who says that most everything he learned came from Nickelodeon. That is his way of being funny… I guess, but it tells me something about the people who get this erudite look on their faces and say, “I just don’t read novels.”

Why does that make me cringe. Well, I’m an old Louis L’Amour fan, and I can tell you that that...

Virgil, who I don’t know, wrote a piece recently where he talked about the demise of the Democrat Party, and the possibility that the GOP might indeed rescue it.

Here’s a bit: “Yet Hillary is, of course, forever wily.  So she is attempting to make her pro-Syrian stance into a profile in courage.  And yet in the midst of her pandering to the MSM and others on the trendy left, she seems to have lost her logical train of thought. ...
