In home games this term would be used in a game with wild cards, "for the next hand the king with the axe is wild." And wild he was at the Qalandiya checkpoint recently.
A Palestinian approached the Border guards at the crossing with a bag. As he got closer, he removed an axe and hurled it at a security guard. A shot was fired in the air and the man was ordered to stop.
When he refused he was shot and wounded. First the hospital and then jail.
What is most interesting in this incident is not that it happened, but it came right after the Jerusalem Mufti Hussein had been on the radio and TV quoting a phrase from their Muslim writings that called for killing Jews.
Of course words mean nothing. Really?
