May 30

I well remember that phrase, usually shouted with hands on skinny hips, outthrust jaw and defiant eyes as my sister let me know that being the oldest and in charge in the absence of our mother meant nothing to her.

Childhood days

That is how the world views the United Nations.

Still the media just doesn’t get it. They keep cranking out these wonderful proclamations of the UN’s latest demand.

This one originated in the Non-Proliferation Treaty conference which called for inspections of all nation’s nuke facilities. Specifically they say Israel must obey.

Oh, and Iran is conspicuously missing in the document.

Iran's representative to the IAEA cheered the declaration, and said the US must go along with it. The US signed it along with 188 other nations.

According to a Ynet report, “Sources in Jerusalem on Saturday criticized as "hypocritical" the Nuclear Non-Proliferation conference that ended with a declaration placing Israel under obligation to have its nuclear facilities inspected by the UN's watchdog.

"The conference mentioned only Israel and not other countries that hold nuclear weapons, such as India, Pakistan, and North Korea. Much worse is its silence on Iran, which is trying to obtain such weapons," one official said.”

FYI

For years now our sources inside the UN have said that the Arab nations are pulling the strings of the talking heads you see pompously making their proclamations before the NYC cameras.

This is just the latest hypocrisy in a long train of them.

Israel will do what it always does. Decry the injustice and go on their way. The question is not Jerusalem’s response, but rather the one coming from Pennsylvania Avenue. We already know how they seem to bow to Muslim nations.
